Janmashtami is a Hindu festival celebrated to mark the birth of Lord Krishna, who is considered the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu. It usually falls in August or September, depending on the lunar calendar. Devotees observe fasts, sing devotional songs, and participate in various cultural and religious events. Dahi Handi, where young men form human pyramids to break a pot of curd hung high in the air, is a popular tradition during Janmashtami.
